Water to the Rescue
Fluids form an important part of a detox plan. They help flush out toxins from the body. Normally each of us requires at least two litres of fluid per day but when it comes to detoxification, you need to increase it to at least three litres. Start your morning with lemon juice in warm water. Drink plenty of water. Make fruit-infused water at home for a refreshing kick such as apple-cinnamon, mint-cucumber-lemon-ginger or kiwi-strawberry-lime.
High Fibre and Fruit Diet
Fruits and vegetables are loaded with antioxidants and fibre, which makes them the best natural cleanser. Wholegrains also aid in detoxification because of their fibre and nutrient content. Have a balanced diet that includes lots of fruits, vegetables, whole oats and wholewheat dalia. Avoid caffeine and alcohol for a week.
Try Herbal Infusions
Herbal teas are made from dried herbs, flowers and spices and come packed with antioxidants. These antioxidants bind with toxins and flush them out of the body as a part of colon cleansing, thereby detoxifying the liver and boosting digestion. A versatile group of beverages, teas come in a variety of flavours such as tulsi, ginger, cinnamon, etc. Have cold or warm herbal infusions, two to three times a day.
Exercise and Yoga
Exercise increases blood circulation to the digestive tract and helps get rid of stored toxins in fat tissues. Try cycling, jogging and floor exercises to sweat out the toxins. Cleanse your system with yoga and meditation. Asanas such as janu sirsasana, vajrasana, bhujangasana and kapalbhati kriya help eliminate the toxins and cleanse the system.
