A Hand Sanitizer Is A Must-Have In Your Bag
Washing hands with soap and water is not always an option. Keep a sanitizer handy
Washing your hands with soap and water, frequently, remains the best solution to fighting germs. But it is not always possible to carry soap and water everywhere, especially when you are travelling to work using public transport, or meeting friends at a cafe, or just shaking hands with your colleagues at work. In such scenarios, a small bottle of hand sanitizer can do the job for you.
Look for a hand sanitizer with at least 60 per cent alcohol, says the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). "After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing, you should clean your hands by immediately washing your hands with soap or using alcohol-based hand sanitizer to avoid spreading germs," recommends CDC.
Pro-tip: If your hands are visibly dirty or greasy, avoid using a sanitizer, instead wash your hands with soap and water.
