If you are wondering what you should do to get that warm, sun-kissed look without skipping your sunscreen routine—the answer is, get a bronzer. “You’re looking to add warmth with bronzer, not colour. Bronzer is all about making the skin look healthier,” New York-based celebrity makeup artist Hung Vanngo tells Cosmopolitan.

Options to choose from

Choose a bronzer based on your skin type. If you have oily skin, powder bronzers are for you. A bronzer with matte finish will ensure you don’t look oily. Stay away from shimmery bronzers.

For dry and flaky skin, cream bronzers can be an ideal option. You can apply it with your fingers or use a foundation brush to blend it evenly all over your skin for a smooth finish. Don’t try mixing the cream with the powder bronzer or vice-versa—it’s a recipe for disaster.

Slightly difficult to apply compared to the other two options, liquid bronzers work well on dry skin. You can add a few drops to your moisturizer and then apply it all over your face for an even tone. You can also add it to your foundation for a natural glow.

When it comes to picking a shade, settle for a bronzer which is a shade or two darker than your natural complexion to get the desirable results.

Bronzing Vs contouring

Bronzing is often confused with contouring, but they are two different makeup techniques. Contouring is meant to define and accentuate your features, especially your cheekbones or nose. Bronzing, on the other hand, adds warmth to your face by giving it a healthy glow.
