We recently reached a new low, when a businessman from Ramnagara, Karnataka, cut off his left pinkie and donated it at Tirupati to celebrate bail for Sonia and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case.

ONLINE SHOPPING has taken India by storm, but looks like it's raising a stink too. Among the popular gifts ordered online are cow dung cakes, which frequently come with requests for gift-wrapped delivery. New stock often runs out quickly and prices for eight-piece packages vary from Rs.100 to 400. We don't want to know on what basis.

WE OFTEN BEMOAN the lack of manners in today's world, but here's a ray of hope: A gang of robbers in Agra looted a bank, departing with Rs.27 lakh as well as the CCTV cameras-and wished the staff a happy New Year before heading out. We hope they get caught soon and help turn Agra's jails into really friendly spaces.
