India reported its single-biggest spike in daily cases and deaths on Friday morning as fresh data was shared by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The country recorded 9,851 fresh cases of COVID-19 and 273 deaths in the last 24 hours. With this, India’s coronavirus tally rose to 2.26 lakh cases while the death toll climbed to 6,348. The recovery rate is at 48.27 per cent with 1.09 lakh COVID-19 patients being cured of their illness so far.

India cases and toll: India’s coronavirus tally continues to grow—by Friday morning, the country had reported a total of 2,26,770 cases. While the active cases stand at 1,10,960, recoveries too have gone up to 1,09,461, according to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). The country has, so far, lost 6,348 lives to the virus and co-morbidities, with 273 in the last 24 hours.

In yet another single-biggest spike in daily cases, another 9,851 fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported from across the country on Thursday. India daily case count is among the highest in the world.

No exams for 3 lakh Delhi University students: The Delhi University has decided not to hold exams for 3 lakh students in their first and second year of graduation, citing social distancing norms, reported The Times of India. Students will be evaluated on the basis of internal assessment scores and previous semester marks. This system will be applicable for more than 12,000 first-year postgraduate students too. For final year students, the university would hold online open-book examinations from 1 July.
