Sara Ali Khan makes her debut in Kedarnath, a romantic drama set in the eponymous place of pilgrimage. Set against the backdrop of the 2013 Uttarakhand floods, the movie is about the relationship between a Hindu girl and a Muslim boy (Sushant Singh Rajput). The film releases on 7 December.

In 2011, Marvel Comics added a young, Afro–Latino Spider-Man called Miles Morales to their roster. On 14 December this year, Miles meets Peter Parker and the other ‘Spider-People’—each of whom protects a different, alternate universe—in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. The animated film has Nicholas Cage, Mahershala Ali and Kimiko Glenn voicing characters.

If you’ve forgotten what it’s like to be a child, Disney is here to remind you with Mary Poppins Returns. The magical nanny (Emily Blunt) is back to help the Banks children through a difficult time in their lives. The musical, directed by Rob Marshall, releases on 19 December.

In Zero, Shahrukh Khan plays a dwarf who finds a companion in Anushka Sharma, who plays a scientist with cerebral palsy. This irreverant romantic comedy directed by Aanand L. Rai also stars Katrina Kaif. The film hits theatres on 21 December.

Andy Serkis reinvents Rudyard Kipling’s beloved masterpiece, in which a boy, torn between two worlds, accepts his destiny and becomes a legend. Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle has a star-studded cast that includes Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch and Freida Pinto. The film will premiere on Netflix on 7 December.

Based on Aravind Adiga’s novel of the same name, Selection Day is a coming-of-age drama about two brothers who are raised by their strict, obsessive father to be star cricketers in India. The first season of the original series premieres on Netflix on 28 December....
