 Here's why India is already trending at the soon-to-be-held 47th International Emmy Awards

The nominations for the 47th International Emmy Awards announced on 19 September by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, with 44 Nominees across 11 categories and 21 countries, has India trending and the Indian film industry abuzz with excitement. Actor Radhika Apte received the best actress nomination for her performance in Lust Stories in a segment directed by Anurag Kashyap, while Sacred Games competes with AMC and BBC co-produced McMafia. What’s more, Netflix’s Lust Stories received an Emmy nomination for best TV Movie/Mini-Series category as Amazon Prime Video’s The Remix competes in the non-scripted entertainment category.

Anurag Kashyap took to Instagram to announce the nominations. He wrote, “What a day.” 

Radhika Apte who was trolled last year for appearing in three Netflix originals finally got reel justice with two of the three Netflix originals she starred in, winning nominations at the International Emmy Awards 2019.

The winners of this year’s International Emmy Award will be announced on 25 November 2019 in New York. Can’t hardly wait to see India bringing the award home!
