India cases and toll: India added 92,071 cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours (8 am Sunday to 8 am Monday), taking the nationwide tally to 48,46,427, as per the data shared by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The active caseload is inching close to the 10-lakh mark—there are currently 9,86,598 active cases. So far, 37,80,107 people have recovered from the illness. The COVID-19 toll stands at 79,722 with 1,136 people succumbing to the disease in the last 24 hours. India conducted 9,78,500 tests for COVID-19 on Sunday.   

Gyms, yoga centres allowed to reopen in Delhi: In a late night order on Sunday, the Delhi government allowed gyms and yoga centres to reopen from Monday. However, those situated in containment zones—Delhi has nearly 1,500 of them—will remain shut.

Meanwhile, Delhi recorded 4,235 fresh cases of coronavirus and 29 deaths on Sunday. The Delhi government on Sunday asked 28 private hospitals to reserve 80 per cent of their total ICU beds for COVID-19 patients, reported Hindustan Times.
