Show Your Hands Some Love
Solid tips to keep your hands soft and presentable
Are your hands feeling dry with the constant washing? While washing your hands removes germs and dirt, it strips your skin of natural oils. Here are a few tips to help you take care of your hands.
Pick the right soap/handwash
Choose a handwash or soap that not only cleans your hands, but also moisturizes them. You can look for a soap that contains glycerine, which is a great moisturizer. Don’t rub your hands too harshly while washing them.
Your hands are involved in every chore you do through the day. You can wear gloves while doing the dishes. If you have sensitive skin, wear gloves while handling cleaning agents and disinfectants.
Apply hand cream
Once you have washed your hands, apply a hand cream or good-old Vaseline to lock in the moisture. This is a sure-shot way of keeping your hands soft.
Keep your cream within easy reach so that you can apply it at regular intervals all through the day.
Try DIY manicure
While your hands do all the heavy-lifting at home, show them some love with a DIY manicure.
Clip you nails and shape them with a nail file. Next, apply cuticle oil on each nail (you can use olive or almond oil too) to moisturize your cuticles.
Prepare a nail soak by adding a few drops of almond or jojoba oil to a bowl of warm water, and soak your hands in it for a couple of minutes. Use an orange stick to push back your cuticles and clean your nails. Apply an exfoliating scrub to get rid of dead skin. Once you wash off the scrub, dry your hands and apply a moisturizer or hand cream. You can paint your nails, if you like.
